I was cooking today, but not with Saladmaster. I was demonstrating outdoor cooking over a wood fire.
I cooked some old time favorites, ham and beans in the Dutch Oven and fried potatoes and onion in the big old cast iron skillet.
Now, I am not promoting that you cook with cast iron on a regular basis because it is not good for you, but on a camping trip you can not beat it on a open wood fire.
Farm Girl Fest is an awesome event. It was today and will be help Sunday also from 12 to 5.
There is a lot going on so lets take a look.
There is also a rope maker, a wool weaver, a soap maker, organic produce vendor, and much much more!
You can meet Lowell Davis and he is even signing his books.
If you would like to come and join us on Sunday, church starts at 10am and the festival starts at noon. I will have ham and beans and tators and onions for sale at lunch.
Here are the details.
