You have to make good old fried chicken, once in a great while. Tonight I had a package of Chicken wings. You can cook them in Saladmaster without any oil, just throw them in the pan and cook them, but they don’t get really crispy and crunchy, like thighs do.
So, I made them the way my Grandma used to. First, put some flour in a bowl, add some salt and pepper, then mix throughly. Then take your wing, unfolded, and cover it in flour, then tucking in the wing end.
Fill the electric skillet about 1.5 to 2 inches of oil. Heat your oil to 400, and wait till the light turns off your probe, that means that it is the correct temperature. If you don’t start your chicken hot enough then it will not get that really crispy coating.
Cook the wings till they are getting golden and crsipy around the edges, don’t get impatient, you want them good and crispy before you turn them. Once, golden, turn and cook another 10 minutes. Check to make sure that they are as crispy as you like, and if you have a meat thermometer, make sure they are at least 180 degrees in the thickest part.
