I am the Director of Operations at Joplin Family Worship Center in Joplin, Mo. We are a Resource Center created from the May 22, 2011 F5 Tornado. We are still serving our community and it has been busy.
One aspect of our Resource Center is the opportunity to employ 20 workers in our Resource Center all from a grant program. We could not do this work without them and they are a huge blessing.
Today at 12 Baskets Cafe we cooked up a storm. We had pizza crusts donated and therefore I decided we would have, cook to order pizza for lunch today.
I have 5 kitchen workers and they make a great team. I plan the menus, buy the groceries, and do my best to use what we have on hand or has been donated.
We prepare breakfast and lunch each day and dinner when we have volunteer groups in. We gladly feed all Tornado survivors, volunteers, and relief workers each day.
Each person was able to place their order and have their own pizza.
We used lots of take out boxes today.
FAMILY TABLE – Wednesday night church dinner
Each Wednesday night we prepare a meal for all church members to come have a nice dinner and fellowship before church.
Tonight on the Menu:
Green Beans with ham and onion
Carrot Cake with homemade cream cheese frosting
and Snickerdoodle Bars
Needless to say we had lots of full and happy bellies today.
