The Petunia box is beautiful!
This year I planted in containers due to lack of time and not wanting to get the garden spot ready.
Amy and I got our plants at Sutherland’s on sale and from Midwest Ag in Carthage.
Tomatoes are growing great! Laura wanted a tomato by July 4…. We are almost there.
Basil is the best thing to have planted with or near to fight off bugs. It is called companion gardening.
This is a big basil plant with oregano next to it.
Marigolds are growing like crazy! They are also a good companion plant for my vegetables.
Here is how I made my garden. I went to Walmart and got $1.98 buckets. Bought a $8.97 bag of planting soil which fills 2.5 buckets.
I used an ice pick and put 3 holes in the bottom of the buckets, then filled the bottom with rocks out of the yard. Rocks help with drainage.
Fill the rest up to the top of the bucket and add 1 Tablespoon of root starter.
I water every morning with a water bucket that has had water sitting from the previous day.
Soon it will be time to get some osmocote fertilizer crystals to feed them some more.
Now I am looking forward to a HARVEST!!!!
